Austin C. Baron is currently in the Associate Advisor-Residency Program at Clearwater Capital Partners. A recent graduate Cum Laude from Illinois State University with a double major in Managerial Economics and Finance, Austin has always had a fascination with how the economy affects the world around him.
Austin's passion for financial markets all began at a young age when his father took him to an Investment Seminar . He recalls the moment at the end of the seminar where members of the audience were asked to pick a stock and explain why it was increasing in value. Austin was the only individual to be able to do so. It was at this point that Austin first realized he had the ability to notice patterns between the stock market and real-world events.
During his time at Illinois State University, Austin grew a long list of accomplishments. He was elected onto the Executive Board as Treasurer of The Delta Chi Fraternity, single-handedly managing their $150,000 budget at the age of 20 years old. Austin was also involved with the school’s Educational Investment Fund. This student-managed, $500,000 fund allows aspiring investment professionals the opportunity to perform in depth financial analysis with an emphasis on real-world application of classroom concepts.
During this same time period Austin simultaneously held 3 consecutive internships at State Farm Corporate Headquarters. These included positions in both the Bank Business Development and Bank Response Center departments. Austin received the Scott M. Elliott and Ron Ulmer Undergraduate scholar-ships from The Department of Economics. He also earned the Center of Investment Research and Educational Investment Fund scholarships from The Department of Finance, Insurance, & Law.
Austin joins the team as a member of the Clearwater Capital Partners Associate Advisor Residency program, a multi-year process where he will be develop the skillset to become a client facing Wealth Advisor. In August 2018, Austin sat for and successfully passed the Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination. Upon passing Austin obtained his Series 65 license and became an Investment Advisor Representative. Additionally, Austin’s professional development also includes earning the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA®) Designation through the College for Financial Planning.
During his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, and playing golf.
Austin Grew up in Crystal Lake, Illinois and currently resides in Chicago.
